I have enjoyed making and creating things from an earily age. After retiring from 33 years of teaching I have been able to explore many new avenues in the creative process. While an educator I enjoyed working with my students with clay and providing them the opportunity to explore sculptural forms. Retirement has given me the opportunity to continue working in clay and creating unique sculptures.
My art work is influenced by my many years of travel and studies of the world. Traveling has made me aware of the growing problem of discarded objects in our environment. In many of my sculptures I add an element of surprise by using found, discarded objects, and incorporating them into my work along with the clay. I enjoy the challenge of creating a final art work out of a wide range of materials and each piece is a one of the kind work of art.
